Nathan James Kaufman went to the Lord on Tuesday, August 8th, 2017, in The Woodlands, Texas. Nathan was born on August 2nd, 1993 in Pleasanton, California to Brad and Christen Kaufman. Nathan lived an extraordinary 24 years of life, graduating from The Woodlands High School and receiving a bachelor's degree from The University of Mississippi with a major in Political Science and a minor in English. He moved forward to continue his education finishing his first year at the Texas Tech School of Law. Nathan was an active member of the Federalist's Society and received many awards throughout his first year in law school. One of which, he was elected into the prestigious Texas Tech Law Review, an academic law journal published quarterly by students where he was one of a select few chosen. Simultaneously, he was awarded as the sixth best oralist for his outstanding oral advocacy skills during the Spring 2017 1L Moot Court Competition.

Throughout his high school career, Nathan was a member and Defensive Captain of The Woodlands High School Lacrosse team. Which led him to earn a scholarship from Virginia Wesleyan College where he spent his freshman year. Nathan loved going hunting and fishing with his family and friends including trophy hunting with his father. Always being an avid writer, he grew a great interest in poetry in college. His love for music was shown through his many talents including trumpet, piano, harmonica, guitar, and vocals.

Nathan had a presence that lit up the whole room. His smile and personality was like no other and his humor was unmatched. His classmates knew his drive and determination. His friends knew his fierce loyalty and charisma. His family knew his strong faith, love, and compassion.

He is survived and remembered by his father and mother, Brad and Christen Kaufman, his sister, Catherin Kaufman, his grandparents, Jim and Rose Kaufman, Roger and Donna Hawk, and countless family and friends.

Please join the Kaufman family in a celebration of life.
