Otho Henry Toombs, 86, formally from Lake Murvual, Texas
went to meet his Lord and Savior August 7,2017 in Montgomery, Texas.

Otho H. Toombs was born in Laurel, MS to George Washington and
Dora "Windham" Toombs. He graduated from Jones County High School.

Otho was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather
and Santa to many. He was a compassionate and loving soul.
He married Sybil Lorene Middleton on July 2, 1953 at First Church of
the Nazarene in Laurel, MS.

Otho H. Toombs was born in Laurel, MS to George Washington and
Dora "Windham" Toombs. He graduated from Jones County High School.

Otho was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather
and Santa to many. He was a compassionate and loving soul.
He married Sybil Lorene Middleton on July 2, 1953 at First Church of
the Nazarene in Laurel, MS.

Otho worked for Uncle Bens Rice in Pasadena, TX for 22 years and the U.S. Postal Service of
Deer Park, TX before retiring to Lake Murvual. He was a veteran of the Korean War
"The Forgotten War". He served in the National Guard and was called to active duty in 1951.

Otho was a Pasadena volunteer firefighter for 20 years where he served as Chaplain and was
a member of the Executive Board. Each year he played Santa even after he had retired from
the fire deparment through 2011 when sadly, due to illness he could no longer participate.
Always active in church, for over 40 years, Otho was a Head Usher, Board Member,
Building Committee Chairman and bus driver at the First Church of the Nazarene. After retirement he
served as Head Usher and Board Member at Henderson Church of the Nazarene. When asked what his
favorite verse of scripture was, his answer would always be, "All of them".
Otho is proceeded in death by parents, sisters; Martha Lide, Virginia Peek, Gail Clark and Mardell
Bivonia. His Brother Bob Toombs and great- grandson Blake Matthew Alvey.

Otho is survived by his wife of 64 years Sybil Middleton Toombs. Children; Edward Darrell Toombs Sr.
(Debby), Deborah Ann Clinard (Ray), Dora Denise Pierce (Keith). Brothers; George Toombs of Laurel, MS,
Barry Toombs of Slidell, LA. Sisters; Anita Schulingkamp of New Orleans, LA, Mary Toombs, Sally Toombs
and Sylvia Bradley of Laurel, MS. Grandchildren; Michelle (Steven) Krahn, Misty (Mark) Rios, Dora
Danielle (Jacob) Toombs-Thrower, Megan Dean, Edward Darrell Toombs Jr., Devon Kay (Joshua)
Langford, Kyle Pierce, Tyler (Kayla) Pierce. Otho was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren and numerous
nieces and nephews and friends.
